Launched in September 2013, the new PEUGEOT 308 has already achieved an undeniable success. Awarded as International Car of the Year 2014 and also having been honored with the Interior of the Year award in 2014, the model has generated a very encouraging universal acceptanceWhat is certain is that a more sportive version needed a line that is already quite complete and well equipped from its first level. In this sense, the brand decided to bet on the 308 GT – a more powerful version of the current 308, intended for lovers of sports driving. Even more sporty lines and high performance engines are the main focuses of enthusiasm for this new 308 GTSports designMany are the unique details in terms of design present in this new 308 GT. From its reduced ground distance (7 mm less in the front and 10 mm less in the rear), to the incorporated friezes in the bottom of the body, that visually extend its sporty features, also the exclusive painting Magnetic Blue reinforces the attitude more bold design of this version, as well as the standard 18-inch bi-tone wheels. The signature LED light in the front remains, as it stands alone, a bold identity already present in the Allure version, the novelty are the direction-reversing lamps, which are presented under a completely innovative formula with lights LED sliding lights, from the inside to the outside. Also in the rear some details were taken into account in this sport version, such as the black lacquered diffuser and the generous double exhaust outlet. As for the interior, this was also not forgotten, keeping the sporting aptitude present in the exterior, such as aluminum pedals, chrome door doors, anthracite roof coverings, or red stitching not only on sports seats, all over the dashboard, the door panels, the shift lever bellows and the specific rugs, which make the interior more aggressive and exciting.
Regarding this chapter, the PEUGEOT development team has used all of its experience to achieve the best possible weight-to-power ratio, which is why it is necessary to use a chassis with specific configurations, with shock absorbers that adapt instantly to the type of chosen. This new version GT, receives in this way, two engines of sport character and disconnectable ESP, able to reach high performances, already fulfilling the norms Euro6:Petrol engine: 1.6 e-THP 205 hp CVM6This engine with a displacement of 1,598 cc combines:- A Twin-Scroll turbocharger, for performances and instant reactions from the low regimes;-Direct injection of gasoline that ensures ideal combustion points;- Variable lifting of the intake valves, together with the valve control shaft on the intake and exhaust (VTi, Variable valve and Timing injection technology);- Stop & Start (STT) to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions as well as comfort in urban driving.Diesel engine: 2.0 BlueHDi 180 cv EAT6With a displacement of 1,997 cc, it records CO2 emissions of only 103 g / km with a consumption of 25 km / l thanks to:- A common third generation ramp that offers a pressure that can reach the 2,000 bar;

Purchasing a new car or recreational vehicle is a large investment. Whether you’re buying an economy car or RV, in today’s day and age it is a large investment. Keeping your vehicle looking like new is easy with a quality vehicle cover. Depending on where you park your vehicle, there is a cover for you in today’s market. If you park your vehicle in a garage, you should still protect it with a car cover large. Even indoors dirt and dust can build up on the surface. Then there is always the trash barrel or bicycle that can cause dings and scratches if someone is careless. There are times when for one reason or another you can’t park it inside. Perhaps you are on a road tripIf you have been shopping lately and parked in a public lot you know how busy they can be, it can take several minutes just to find a space. This would be an excellent time to have a car cover for your vehicle which will provide extra protection against reckless people who may bump into your vehicle with a door or shopping cart. Many times folks are not even aware they caused damage. Many may not report it due to fear of increased insurance premiums. If you have a cover on your car dings and scratches can be prevented. You’ll also keep would-be thieves away, if they can’t see it, they won’t want to steal it.
Weather is another great reason to protect your investment with a quality vehicle cover. Hail can cause dings that can cost thousands of dollars to repair. Wind can cause falling tree limbs which can break windshields and scratch or dent the surface. Bird droppings and tree sap can be unsightly and difficult to clean. Snow and ice can be an inconvenience before your daily commute. If you should use a cover for your car, it would be protected from the elements. In today’s world, shopping for a vehicle cover could not be easier. The World Wide Web is the best way in my opinion. There is a vehicle cover for every make and model these days. Whether you have a car, truck, SUV, ATV, boat, RV or another vehicle there is a cover to fit your needs. Just search out car cover, truck cover etc. and shop around. Many companies out there offer free shipping and competitive pricing. Be sure to investigate warranties and return policies. Many companies will not pay for return shipping if you need an exchange so be sure to order the correct size. All websites should have information on how to ensure the proper fit. Regardless of whether you have a car, truck, boat, RV or other vehicle investing in a quality vehicle cover is smart. You will protect your investment and save time and money. Plus, every time you remove the cover, that sparkle and shine underneath will put a smile on your face. With so many different car covers on the market, it is so difficult to differentiate what your money buys you and the level of protection this will provide your pride and joy.
Breathable: A cover may well be waterproof, however, this can result in moisture becoming trapped underneath the cover from condensation or moisture from the various under bonnet reservoirs. A cover, therefore, should be manufactured from breathable material so that any moisture beneath the cover is allowed to evaporate through the fabric. Beware of non-breathable fabrics with vents positioned on the roofline, as where there are no vents, dampness will form. Non-Hydroscopic: Natural fibers such as cotton are hygroscopic meaning that they will absorb moisture from the surrounding atmosphere and become damp, not what you need when trying to preserve the condition of your pride and joy. Man-made materials are a good choice for car covers as these are non-hygroscopic. Dust proof: One of the main requirements of a car cover will be to protect your vehicle from dust and dirt contaminating the exterior paintwork. As specified, a cover should be breathable, to achieve this a cover will have tiny holes in the material. However to ensure good dust protection properties, the cover should be of multilayer construction, layers of breathable material in which the holes in each layer should not line up. Non Scratch: Any car cover, no matter how soft and luxurious WILL SCRATCH if placed on an unwashed car. Therefore it is always imperative that a car cover is always only placed on a clean car. The material of the car cover should have a man-made soft lining which will also help prevent scratches being introduced into the paintwork when putting on and taking off the cover. It is also advisable that covers are laundered periodically to remove any dust/grit particles which may accumulate over time.
Good fitting: A well-fitting cover looks good and is also functional, however a tight a fitting cover (such as fully tailored) will prevent insufficient air circulation beneath a cover. Covers which are stretched over a vehicle tends to open the weave of the fabric allowing dust to filter through. For these reasons fully tailored covers are only recommended for dehumidified clean garages. Too large a cover and it can easily touch the ground picking up harmful grit and dirt particles or slip off the car altogether.
Outdoor car covers
Waterproof: Whilst an outdoor car cover should have good water resistance, 100% water resistance should be avoided as this will result in the inability for the cover to breath and for air to circulate. Therefore multilayer fabrics provide good water resistance and allow air to circulate. UV protection: It is important to protect your vehicle from UV light when not in use as these rays over time lead to; tyres perishing, rubber seals drying out and paintwork to become dull. Any cover will filter out this damaging UV light, however a light colour such as silver or white will reflect the sun’s rays, keeping the car beneath cooler than a darker colour. (Darker colours absorb UV rays leading to a build-up in heat). Straps to secure: One of the biggest risks of using an outdoor car cover is from moving in the wind and chaffing the paintwork. To help prevent this the cover should have an elasticated hem to the front and rear and straps which sling beneath the vehicle in at least two places (font and rear) to securely hold the cover in place.
Ideally a car/bike cover should be semi-tailored so that it is a good fit, but not too tight and made from a multi-layer, breathable fabric. Fully tailored covers should only be used in controlled environments where dust and humidity can be controlled. These covers will not provide any better protection to a vehicle than a semi-tailored cover, their only advantage is that they will look sleek showing off the cars lines even with the cover on. The next area to consider are car/bike storage ‘bubbles’. Please see our separate article on this topic. When winter comes along, many people think that cars now belong indoors. They know that leaving a car outdoors unprotected is not an option. It is a recipe for disaster. Any car that is left parked outside, without any form of protection, is guaranteed to get wrecked in some way or another. The fact remains; a car that is uncovered has a shorter life expectancy. So the question remains, what form of protection to provide? There is a choice of two forms of protection; a garage, or a car cover. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages. They must be weighed up by the individual, to see which is the better of the two for him.
The advantage of garages is that when parked in a garage, the car is completely closed off from any form of weather condition, and therefore cannot, in any way, be harmed by them. Garages are also very convenient for the car owner, as he always know where his car is parked, and never has to search for a space. Another advantage of garages is that they can be used by anyone. More or less any car can drive into the garage and be protected. However, the disadvantages of having a garage largely lie in the money and space involved. Garages are expensive to build as they are not merely three wall and a door. There is more to a garage, and the money mounts up. Aside from this, a lot of people simply do not have the space to build a garage. Even if they did, they would much prefer to use that space for extending the house, rather than building a room to keep a car over night. In addition, when a car is stored in a garage it is not dust and dirt free. Whilst the garage may be able to protect it from the detriments of nature, and car thieves, the car is still exposed to dust and dirt, and hence will still need constant cleaning.
The main advantage of car covers is the how compact they are. Car covers, when not in use, can be folded up and tucked away,out of sight. They can even be stored in the trunk of the car. This enables the car owner to take it along with him wherever he goes, so that he and his car are always covered. This is something that garages can never have – portability. Car cover are also inexpensive, and cost-effective. Cover covers are a drop in the bucket compared to the expense of a garage, and they also provide excellent coverage and protection. In fact they will even protect the car from dust and dirt, unlike garages. They will be able to save the car owner hundreds of dollars over the years that would have otherwise been used for cleaning, polishing and repairs. On the other hand, the good car covers only come custom-made. This means that they are designed to fit the one car, perfectly. The cover will fit the car like a glove, maximizing the protection, but it means that no other car can use it. Thus, it cannot be shared among family and friends, and when a new car is bought, the cover needs to be changed too. In addition, car covers are not as sturdy as garages. Yes they will be able to protect the car from just about everything, including knocks and scrapes. Covers absorb the impact without leaving a mark on the car itself. However this is on a small scale, and should there be a more fierce collision, the cover will be inept at shielding the car.
